(San Antonio, TX) — Former Vikings owner Red McCombs is dead at the age of 95. The Texas-native bought the Vikings in 1998 before selling the team to Mark and Zygi Wilf in 2005. The Vikings released a statement thanking McCombs for his time leading the franchise, adding “we will be forever grateful” to his contributions to the team. McCombs also owned the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets.
