SD Senate Sends Prison Spending Bill To Governor

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Senate is sending a prison spending bill to Governor Kristi Noem without debate. The Senate approved a measure Wednesday authorizing 380 million dollars for new men’s and women’s prisons. The 60-million dollar women’s prison would be built on land already purchased in Rapid City. A 320-million dollar measure for planning and purchasing land for a men’s facility in Sioux Falls also passed.
