(Bismarck, ND) — A resolution is being proposed that would allow electronic signatures on ballot measure petitions. Supporters say the resolution is a compromise where the Secretary of State would set up an online petition signature gathering system. Opponents including the League of Women Voters of North Dakota say it’s an attack on the constitution’s powers and makes unnecessary and unjustified changes. If passed, the measure would take effect in 2026.
