(Valley City, ND) — A former North Dakota House candidate is facing a year of unsupervised probation for hitting her boyfriend at a Valley City bar in October. Kaitlyn Huss was sentenced yesterday for disorderly conduct-fighting behavior in a plea deal reduced from a simple assault charge. She was also sentenced to 40 hours of community service in Barnes County, no contact with the victim until March 1, 2024, and one day in jail, which she has already served. The 33-year-old was a candidate for the District 24 seat in the November election.
