(Morgan, MN) — A Minnesota town is fighting against the opening of a dollar store in their community. More than 200 people have signed a petition in Morgan against the location of a Dollar General store within the city. The city of Morgan and Redwood County commissioners voted down Dollar General’s building permit this week. Morgan Mayor Jerry Huiras says the store would be in direct competition with a local retailer that has been operating for 100 years. Dollar General says it attempts to locate stores in small, underserved communities.
