(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota House is considering a bill to form a suicide case review panel. The proposed Suicide Fatality Review Commission would be charged with addressing the growing number of suicides in the state, with an eye at preventing all cases. The suicide rate in North Dakota is at an all-time high, with nearly 160 people dying by suicide in the state in 2022. Members of the commission would be chosen by the executive director of the state Department of Health and Human Services.
