(Washington, DC) — Senator Mike Rounds is reintroducing a bill to allocate energy project money for school security. The Security to Avoid Violence in Education Settings bill would allow schools to use money set aside for energy purposes toward school safety projects. The legislation would allow school districts to apply for the money the same way they would for energy grants. Rounds says much of the money allocated for energy projects hasn’t been dispersed and should be redirected toward school safety.
