Report: Jets Waive Dalvin Cook

(Florham Park, NJ) — The Jets are parting ways with a veteran playmaker. Four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook was waived on Tuesday. According to ESPN, the move was mutually agreed upon as he also restructured his contract to forfeit remaining guarantees. Cook is now eligible to sign with another team ready to make a playoff run. The 28-year-old is subject to a 24-hour waiver period. Cook has played in 15 games this season and carried the ball only 67 times for 214 yards. The Jets had signed Cook during the preseason to a one-year, seven-million-dollar contract with 5.8-million-dollars in guarantees. New York is third in the AFC East at 6-and-10 and wraps up the season Sunday afternoon at New England.
