(Rapid City, SD) — Communities across South Dakota are working towards a grant to improve child care in the state. It’s the Community Child Planning Grant that would be funded by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The money is intended to help provide more reliable child care for parents wanting to return to the workforce. Elevate Rapid City, an economic development organization, is gathering more information from a public survey and more focus groups to find out more from the community on affordability and accessibility. There’s no exact timetable on when the funding will come.
