(Watertown, SD) — The trial of Jeremiah Peacemaker for the murder of Kendra Owen has reached a verdict. Peacemaker was found not guilty in the decision released Tuesday after he was charged for killing Owen in her apartment in September of 2020. Owen’s body was found decapitated in her apartment, and investigators say she was stabbed 16 times. Fourteen jurors sat through the case for more than a week. South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley released a statement, stating his respect for the jury and holding up the decision to come to trial with the evidence law enforcement agencies had produced.
