Funding Available For South Dakota Airports With New Law

(Pierre, SD) — A recent bill signed into law is opening up funding to help airports across South Dakota soar to new heights. Senate Bill 144 allows the state’s airports to apply for additional funds to go towards construction projects and expansion. It’s a pool of ten million dollars that is supposed to aid in rising construction costs. Sioux Falls Regional Airport is currently adding five new gates to its concourse and building a new parking garage. The Sioux Falls Airport reportedly generates over five-hundred million dollars alone in economic impact. The Rapid City Regional Airport is also looking to get a boost from the new funding as it also has terminal upgrades in the works.
