(Sturgis, SD) — Sturgis is not going to have a downtown street race at this year’s Rally for now. Voters agreed on a referendum on the city council’s decision to sign a contract with Spirit of Sturgis TT Race. Tuesday’s election results show over a thousand people voted in favor of rejecting the contract, while only more than 400 voted against repealing it. City of Sturgis communications director Deb Holland said the city is still figuring out what will happen next with the race after this week’s vote.
