New Fire Training Tower Revealed For Rapid City Fire Departments

(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City Fire Departments are ready to train in a brand new way. The city unveiled a state-of-the-art five-story training tower yesterday. Fire departments in the area have had to rely on Ellsworth Air Force Base for live fire training for a long time. But the new training facility that was planned for over seven years is going to allow them to do a lot more exercises and training with their crews. The first two floors have movable walls and they can burn anywhere on those levels, and it’s also complete with a repelling area and rope system providing a better initial training experience for new firefighters. Crews are preparing to run training sessions already this week.
