(Sioux Falls, SD) — An economist from Creighton is weighing in on the state of housing in Sioux Falls. Dr. Ernie Goss is the director of the Institute for Economic Inquiry at Creighton University and has tracked the economy for decades. He noted price increases have a lot to do with inflation. But growing areas like Sioux Falls are going to continue to deal with housing price challenges because of supply and demand as well. These price increases happen as a result when there is not enough supply. Dr. Goss says the average American is using half of their monthly income for housing, when in theory, it should be closer to a third of that.
