(Rapid City, SD) — While southeastern South Dakota deals with flooding emergencies, the western side of the state is preparing for wildfire season. Fire prevention officials are holding annual training to teach people about wildfire survival tactics. Those leaders are also working to build the best relationship possible with local media to understand how to present the correct information to best inform the public of any dangers. Firefighters from both federal and state agencies, along with volunteers, are at full force as fire threats start to heat up in the Black Hills.
