Canadian Wildfire Smoke Clouding Up North Dakota Skies

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakotans may notice hazy skies this week, and wildfires burning in Canada are to blame. However, the current wind pattern is keeping the smoke high up in the atmosphere, meaning visibility and air quality impacts will likely be minimal. Experts say the smoke could also shield us from high temperatures forecasted this week by filtering sunlight. Last year’s Canadian wildfires caused severe air quality issues throughout North Dakota.
