Montana Supreme Court Hears Landmark Climate Appeal

(Helena, MT) — Montana is making its case to have last year’s landmark climate case decision overturned. Attorneys for the state made a number of arguments yesterday before the Montana Supreme Court nearly a year after a Lewis and Clark County judge ruled in favor of the youth plaintiffs. One lawyer didn’t deny climate change was a thing but argued it was an issue that can’t be decided in the courts. The plaintiffs sued the state over claims that Montana was violating their rights by not providing a “clean and healthy environment.”
