(Rapid City, SD) — A Rapid City man is heading to prison for the next decade-and-a-half because the judge didn’t think the community would be safe with him out on the streets. A judge yesterday sentenced 27-year-old Devin Clifford to 15-years behind bars for shooting his cousin in August of last year. Prosecutors say Clifford opened fire on his cousin because he thought the cousin was sleeping with his girlfriend. The judge said she needed to hand-down the maximum sentence in order to keep the public safe.
