(Garretson, SD) — Palisades State Park in Minnehaha County continues to expand. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday as the state park grew to over 400 acres. Officials absorbed pasture land to add to it. Secretary of South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Kevin Robling says the decision was made to purchase an 80-acre parcel of land nearby. Over one-point-five million dollars was raised since 2019 for Palisades State Park land expansion.
