(Sioux Falls, SD) — Police say a man is facing charges after he allegedly held up a group of hikers at Great Bear Ski Valley. Twenty-one-year-old Diego Lopez is accused of robbing the group at gunpoint around 2 a.m. Saturday. Police spokesperson Sam Clemens says the victims knew the suspect because he had been a part of the group. According to Clemens, the hikers had stopped for awhile and one of the people in the group pulled out a gun, took some jewelry and a backpack and left. Police arrested Lopez Sunday night and he faces aggravated assault charges along with robbery and grand theft.
