(Sturgis, SD) — Medical staffers in Sturgis are gearing up for the big motorcycle rally that starts Friday. With the influx of visitors coming to the area, officials at Monument Health’s Sturgis ER know there could be some busy days ahead. Jimmy Seward is the director of ambulatory operations at the hospital and he tells KELO the ER is fully operational with six ER bays for patients. He says it will be “all hands on deck” during the event with doctors staffed 24/7. Monument Health says there were 250 rally-related ER visits last year.
