Sioux City Woman Gets 10 Years for Meth Conviction

(Sioux City, IA) — A Sioux City woman stopped by the South Dakota Highway Patrol has been convicted of trying to sell methamphetamine. Sara Raquel Torres was sentenced to ten years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Authorities say in March of 2023, Torres planned to sell one pound of meth to a contact who was actually an undercover law enforcement agent. She was on her way to make the deal when she was stopped by the highway patrol. When they searched the vehicle, they found 943 grams of meth and a handgun.
