(Bismarck, ND) — Police across North Dakota will soon implement a new tool to crack down on impaired drivers. It’s called SoToxa, and it’s an oral screening device that detects drugs in a driver’s system, including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, and opiates. The product showed promising results in a state pilot program that took place from January 2022 to July 2023. Starting this fall, officers throughout North Dakota will begin training on how to use SoToxa.
