Bridge A Few Miles North Of International Falls Collapses

(Fort Frances, Ontario) — Canadian authorities are investigating the cause of a railway bridge collapse just north of the Minnesota border. No injuries were reported when the Five-Bridge northwest of Fort Frances collapsed on Wednesday. The area is just north of International Falls. The collapse damaged railroad tracks and will prevent larger boats from traveling between the northern and southern sections of Rainy Lake. Crews began working to repair the bridge yesterday and boaters have been warned to stay away from the site.
