(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is officially joining the massive civil antitrust lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation. State Attorney General Marty Jackley made the announcement yesterday, making South Dakota the 41st state to side with the U.S. Department of Justice. The suit accuses the ticket-selling giant of monopolization and unlawful conduct that’s squeezing out smaller promoters, hurting artists and drowning ticket buyers in fees. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird also said yesterday that her state is joining the lawsuit as well.
