(Sioux Falls, SD) — FEMA is in South Dakota responding to those impacted by the historic summer flooding. The agency announced this week that Disaster Survivor Assistance teams are visiting four counties to help residents apply for assistant. Teams will be on the ground going door-to-door in Davison, Lincoln, Turner and Union counties. There are no confirmed dates or times however. According to FEMA’s website, the maximum amount an individual can be awarded for 2024 is 42-thousand-500 dollars. The eligible award amount is based on the damage observed during the FEMA inspection.
