(St. Petersburg, FL) — The Minnesota Twins surrendered eight runs in the bottom of the fourth during a 9-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. The Twins scored four times in the top of the seventh to make it interesting before the Rays extinguished the rally. Kyle Farmer and Carlos Santana both went deep in the losing effort, while Louie Varland was charged with his sixth loss after allowing eight runs on five hits in two-and-a-third innings. The Twins remain in second place in the AL Central at 75-and-64. Minnesota sends Pablo Lopez to the mound against the Rays this afternoon.
