(Bismarck, ND) — Burleigh County has secured funding to study possible solutions to worsening erosion along Apple Creek in south Bismarck. Some of the worst erosion is along Sibley Drive, where people are becoming increasingly concerned about a potential road failure. As the creek widens, it could also cause embankments to collapse, and people living nearby are worried about flooding. For now, crews have added rocks to the creek’s embankments to slow the erosion, but a more permanent fix hasn’t been decided on yet.
