(Rapid City, SD) — The six former Mitchell American Legion baseball players in the sexual assault case will pay fines, but won’t serve any jail time. The six players will each pay a fine of 13-hundred-dollars and will also pay court costs. In addition, they’ll be on probation for three years and they’re required to perform 500 hours of community service, none of which can be sports-related. The case stems from a so-called hazing incident in which the defendant was held down by the other players in a Rapid City hotel room while they were in town for a tournament. The six defendants all took plea deals that removed the rape charge against them.
