North Dakota Abortion Ban Is Repealed

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s abortion ban has been repealed. South Central District Court Judge Bruce Romanick was asked to review the ban as part of a lawsuit brought by a former North Dakota abortion clinic that has moved across the state line to Moorhead. In his ruling Thursday, the judge said the abortion ban “takes away a woman’s fundamental rights to liberty” and “to pursue and abstain safety and happiness,” and also “impermissibly infringes on the constitutional rights for victims of crimes.” State Attorney General Drew Wrigley says he plans to appeal Romanick’s ruling.
