(Undated) — Major League Baseball reported that its average attendance grew in consecutive years for the first time in over a decade. The average attendance rose 0.9-percent this season to mark the first time that it has grown in back-to-back years since 2011-12. MLB drew 71.35-million fans for an average of 29,568 per game, which was the most since 2017. The Dodgers, Phillies, Padres, Yankees and Braves were the top five teams in the Majors with the most fans in attendance throughout the year. In other news, the average time of a nine-inning game dropped to an average time of two hours, 36 minutes. That is the lowest since 1984.
