(Fargo, ND) — Federal prosecutors are calling for former state senator Ray Holmberg to be put back in jail while he awaits sentencing on child sex tourism charges. Holmberg is accused of traveling abroad multiple times to have sex with minors, and has pleaded guilty to one count. Court records claim Holmberg violated the terms of his release by visiting a home in Fargo without permission and going on the internet for unapproved purposes. In a motion filed Tuesday, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Klemetsrud said Holmberg “has no regard for this Court’s Order or even its judicial warning.” Holmberg served in the state senate for 45 years.
