(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is announcing yet another criminal investigation into state government corruption. It’s now the fourth case this year. This one involves a state employee accused of falsifying food inspection reports. According to Jackley, 55-year-old Renee Strong of Springfield faces a long list of felony charges for signing off on reports and not doing the proper inspections. Jackley says investigators believe Strong was paid for the inspections that didn’t happen, which is both a taxpayer and public health issue. Strong is looking at a potential combined sentence of more than 90 years for all of the charges.
