(Washington, DC) — President Biden has approved a disaster declaration for the North Dakota wildfires. Biden signed off Tuesday on FEMA’s declaration of the October wildfires as a major disaster, which will free up federal money to assist state recovery efforts. The wind-fueled wildfires killed two people and destroyed nearly 120-thousand acres, causing eight-million dollars worth of damages.
