(Cheyenne, WY) — Wyoming lawmakers want to create a Mount Rushmore-like monument. A new house bill in the Cowboy State would form a task force with the goal of creating a monument to America. The prime sponsor of the bill in Wyoming Republican Representative Steve Harshman says Mount Rushmore was made to honor the nation’s 150th anniversary, and he’s looking to do something similar to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. According to the bill, the possible monument to America will need to feature important historical American figures from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, including Native American leaders.
