House Bill Aims To Change Voter Threshold to Amend Constitution

(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota House is considering a resolution that increases the voting threshold to amend the constitution. The House Government and Veteran Affairs Committee heard testimony on the resolution yesterday. House Concurrent Resolution 3003 would require at least 60-percent of the vote to pass a proposed constitutional amendment. That would change from the current simple majority. The committee made no recommendation during Thursday’s public hearing.
