Noem’s Confirmation Hearing Today

(Washington, D.C.) — Governor Kristi Noem is in Washington, DC for her Homeland Security Secretary confirmation hearing today. It was previously set for Wednesday on Capitol Hill but was postponed to Friday. Noem completed all of her paperwork, but the FBI had yet to complete its portion. That’s according to an aide with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the committee Noem is facing today. The hearing gets underway at 9 a.m. eastern. Noem is hoping to finally make things official after she became President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to head the Department of Homeland Security. Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden will step in as South Dakota’s governor, barring any surprises from Noem’s hearing.
