(Undated) — Record numbers are being reported for South Dakota’s tourism last year. The state welcomed nearly 15 million visitors, a one-point-four percent increase from 2023. Tourism spending jumped over five billion dollars, generating nearly 400 million in state and local taxes. Officials say tourism supported over 58-thousand jobs in the state. Secretary of Tourism James Hagen is crediting the success to marketing efforts and strong seasons for hunting and international travel.
