(Washington, DC) — Doug Burgum is a step closer to becoming Interior Secretary. The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted 18-to-2 Thursday to advance the former North Dakota governor’s nomination. It now goes to the full Senate for a final vote, which according to Senator John Hoeven, could come in the next seven to ten days.
