(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota officials are sending out a warning about opioid-laced marijuana. It comes after a man nearly overdosed on what he thought was regular marijuana. The man was recently rushed to an eastern South Dakota hospital where doctors discovered he has opioids in his system. Authorities are now trying to determine if the weed was also laced with fentanyl, which can be deadly. Attorney General Marty Jackley is calling the situation a “especially dangerous time.” Jackley says an investigation is ongoing but did not specify the exact community, only noting that it’s in southeastern South Dakota.
