(Helena, MT) — Governor Greg Gianforte is highlighting progress on property tax relief at the State Capitol. Gianforte released a statement yesterday commending lawmakers for their efforts to push forward the homestead rate cut, which was scheduled for executive action this week. It was being heard by the House Appropriations Committee earlier in the week and had bipartisan support during a previous vote on the House floor. The homestead rate cut would lower property taxes by 15 percent for homeowners and 18 percent for small businesses. Gianforte called it “the best approach for delivering relief this year.”
