(Williston, ND) — A North Dakota man is facing charges after he allegedly impersonated a federal customs officer to get an inmate out of a county jail. The sheriff of Williams County says Shane Randall is being charged with impersonating officials following Tuesday’s incident at the Williams County Correctional Center in Williston. Prison officials say the inmate called Randall after being told that an ICE officer was on his way to pick him up. Prison officials realized their mistake about 15 minutes after the inmate left with the impersonator, when the real ICE officer arrived. Police apprehended both men without incident a short time later.
