(Sioux Falls, SD) — More people are ending up behind bars facing immigration charges across the country. The Sioux Falls area and South Dakota as a whole have seen an increase in immigration-related arrests. There have been three recent federal court cases for illegal re-entry after deportation in the state — two in Sioux Falls and one in Rapid City. Those individuals are also from three different countries — Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. ICE and Homeland Security Investigations have been involved in arrests around South Dakota. South Dakota Voices for Peace is encouraging law-abiding immigrants to stay diligent and know their rights.
