State Lawmakers Approve ND Version Of DOGE

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers have approved a North Dakota version of the Elon Musk DOGE agency. House Bill 14-42 would create a task force to review state programs and recommend areas to cut costs. The bill passed on Monday with overwhelming support. Sponsor Nathan Toman of Mandan says the proposal is not directly related to the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, but grew out of his experience on legislative committees and wanting to look for ways to reduce unnecessary duplication. The bill now advances to the Senate.
