USD Shakes Up Men’s Basketball Summit League Race

(Vermillion, SD) — University of South Dakota men’s basketball is shaking things up in the Summit League regular season title race. The Coyotes knocked off the conference’s top dog St. Thomas, 85-80, at home in Vermillion last night. USD significantly improved its chances to have any possible shot at the Summit League crown with an 8-5 conference record and only three games left.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits ended up dropping an important game for them yesterday to North Dakota State, the team right on their tails in the standings. SDSU is 9-4 and NDSU, 9-5, in conference play. USD can make the race even more interesting with a trip to Omaha on Saturday, which is now currently the new top team in the Summit League at 11-3 with St. Thomas dropping to 10-3.
