(Lisbon, ND) — What’s believed to be the oldest continuously operating cinema in the U.S. is closing. The Scenic Theater in Lisbon, North Dakota, is shutting its doors after 114 years of showing movies. Its owners say they’re now ready to retire, and without a new owner it’s unclear what will happen to the theater now. The Scenic Theater has only had four owners since in opened in February 1911.
