(Bismarck, ND) — The man who pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman he followed home from a Bismarck bar is being sentenced to 45 years in prison. Edward Harper Jr. pleaded guilty in November to raping and beating the woman in 2023. The unnamed victim appeared in court yesterday and recounted how Harper entered her home and beat and sexually assaulted her over a seven-hour period. Harper could have been sentenced to life.
