(Helena, MT) — A Billings senator wants to see tax revenue from marijuana sales go towards other resources. Republican Tom McGillvray’s bill went before a Senate committee yesterday, which calls for the revenue to be used for treatment and prevention of children using the substance. The revenue currently goes toward conservation efforts and other outdoor items like public access. Opponents noted a Montana agency already has funds to fight the wrongful use of marijuana, and moving those funds could hurt wildlife.
