(Pierre, SD) — A former South Dakota state employee accused of stealing nearly two-million dollars is officially going to be tried. The judge denied a motion in court yesterday to dismiss felony grand theft charges against Lonna Carroll. Carroll allegedly took the money over the course of 12 years while working for the Child Protective Services program. A pre-trial meeting will be held tomorrow. Carroll’s trial is set to start on April 1st.
