(Washington, DC) — South Dakota’s U.S. Senator Mike Rounds is sharing his takeaways from President Trump’s joint address to Congress last night. Rounds was there at Capitol Hill to absorb the lengthy speech. In an interview with KELO Land News, Rounds recapped the address, saying “The President was clearly on fire with his messaging,” and added “It was a little bit of a shirts and skins game involved between Republicans and Democrats throughout the entire process.” Senator Rounds confirmed Congress is working on the bills Trump mentioned and is promising to improve the economy with tax cuts and balancing the budget. The South Dakota Senator is also in alignment with Trump’s tariff plans, primarily the ones imposed on Canada and Mexico, which Rounds says is ultimately to get those countries to stop the flow of fentanyl into the U.S.
